Thanks for the compliment! Why are using using a URN-based solution? If you simply publish the form template into a shared network folder, you should be able to point users to the template via normal conventions, such as \\server\forms\MyTemplate.xsn . I'm not sure how you could do this with a URN-based solution unless the form was ...

Sorry to disappoint you, and there might be another easier way to do this that I don't know of, but the way I described would be the way I would do it and as long as the schema wasn't terribly complex, I could probably process any number of rows in the spreadsheet within a few hours.

By looking at the code, this looks like it should work. To help you debug, you might want put in a few popup dialogs that show you the values that you are working with. Another consideration would be making sure the case sensitivity is not throwing you off. Also, you are not using the sourceBusinessCard variable anywhere, try this:

So what are people supposed to do, that want to convert their existing system to Sharepoint and use InfoPath forms. How are they supposed to get their existing data into it? I suppose it's too new at the moment..

I think the problem with appendChild is that you are making some kind of mistake when you call thisXDocument.DOM.createNode(). There might be some kind of problem with the namespace or something, but this should work if everything is done correctly.
