Data Validation question from a check box

I have a question in regards to another post....http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/t/7932.aspx.

I have 2 check boxes tied to 1 text box that I need required in my form.

I think I've followed the steps correctly in the above post, but I seem to be missing something.  The text box still highlights even after I put text in and try to move on to another section of my form.  Is there a way to get rid of the highlighting when the text box(required) contains information?  When checking either Check Box, I get the red astrisk next to my Text Box (Which is correct), but I can't seem to get rid of the red highlighting around the Text Box.

    Any help is very appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Rory Schmitz

    Hello, and welcome!

So, let's see if I'm understanding you correctly. You have two checkboxes and if either one of them is selected, you require text in the textbox.

If that is correct, the condtions for data validation should be (based on your checkboxes being true if checked, false if not -- you may need to adjust these conditions for your scenario):

TextBox is blank and Checkbox1 is true
    or
TextBox is blank and Checkbox2 is true

I'm attaching the sample I used to verify this. Right-click the link, save as and open in design mode. Then you can preview it to test the validation on the text field.
