    Complex form...

We are designing a form for managers to fill in with new user details, when someone new starts work.

Part of the form is about what access to software a new user will require. One of the software packages requires an external supplier to set up the new user, so if a manger ticks a box on the form, how do I then make another part of the form switch to make the fields mandatory?

Thanks for any help at all.

    Hey Ben.

You can put conditions on validations.

So you can set requirements based on a field value.

Well I though I'd got it...! But it seems not.

Just to be clear, when the user ticks the e-Shop box, the two fields below should turn to be mandatory...

Thanks for any help whatsoever :)

Your e-shop check box should have a data type of boolean (True/False).  Set the default value to false. Lets say that box is called eShop.

Then on each text box, right click each one and under properties click data valadation.  Then once that brings up a screen, click Add.

Within that screen your if statement shoudl be: eShop is equal to TRUE(select this don't type) then you can type a message in.  that will require that field to be filled in.  If you need somethign specific to be in that field or formatted a particular way, create another validation rule.

     Repeat for second text field.

sorry i missed a part, though of it on my way home from work.  In your conditions, add if your text box is blank AND eshop is equal to true.
