    Back to Code Basics...

I have the Visual Studio Tool for Applications.... A colleague has sent me some code to include in my Infopath 2007 form.  He has written it using the 2003 compatible version of VB.  I am using straight VB - I cannot get it to work in straight VB.

If I select VB (Infopath 2003 compatible) when creating code I get the following :-

    Imports Microsoft.Office.Interop.InfoPath.SemiTrust

    Microsoft.Office.Interop.InfoPath.SemiTrust

If I select VB I get.

    Imports Microsoft.Office.InfoPath

    Microsoft.Office.InfoPath

Looking at the Object Browser they have significantly different items in them. - The semiTrust one has more 'stuff' in it. Particularly about Xdocument - which my colleague has used in his code - (looking on the Infopath 2007 Developer reference  this seems to be one of the key objects to use).

Do I get everything I need in Imports Microsoft.Office.InfoPath - and I am just not recognising it - or should I add the SemiTrust as another import - (or should I just go and get another job cos I don't understand anything )!

    Hi Catherine,

You will get Everything that you need in the new 2007.

You will no longer have XDocument, you have to use XMLDocument in place of that.

Type "this." in the new object model it will show all available properties.
