Decimal Data Type Node in Group Won't Merge Into New (Target) Form

I have an IP 2007 form template.   One non-repeating group has 12 nodes in one group:  3 of the 12 are decimal data types with default value set to $0; the other 9 are text data types with no default values.   When I attempt to merge the results of one form from the template into another, all 9 text nodes come through, but the 3 decimal data type nodes do not come into the target form.  The result in the target form for the 3 decimal data type nodes is $0 (the default value.)  I removed the default value from one of the decimal data type nodes (leaving it blank); the merge result is blank (even though a number is entered in the source form.  When I check the merge tab for these fields to configure it, the message alert box says I must change the data type in order to make any config changes.

Does merge not work when the data type = decimal (double)?  If it does work, any idea how I can get the merge function to work properly with these three nodes?

It should work, but you may need to customize the XSL. After you enable Merge you can export the form as source files go into the Manifest and look for ImportFiles section and see what XSL is being used. Open that XSL in notepad and modify it to correct the mapping. Unfortunately, there's no way to easily debug this stuff and you have to understand XSL but it's all doable. The InfoPath 2003 SDK had several samples including 3 InfoPath forms (Status Report, Issue Tracking and Meeting Agenda) that all use this feature. Best of luck! Or, send us a support pack and we'll debug it for ya...  :)
