Hi evrebody,
I have a lot of concerns related to the migration from the test site to the productive one. I around 20 data connection which are Lists in the test SharePoint site. I would like to switch the test site to productive without migrations, simply star using it as productive, but my boss needs it to be on a different server, since the most people who will use it are accessing the new site location much quicker than now. So I had to create a plan how to do the this migration:
1. I will change the data connection to the new site (Submiting, etc) - they are the same list, the same names, but the location is different. My question here is if this is going be a problem for the template and for the existing forms. I have the choise to delete the data connections and to make the new one, or to simply rework the existing ones. Using the first technique I might have samo problems with the references of the old data connections later. Using the 1st methor I have to overwrite the template, not to update it. Will it damage my existing forms?
2. When the data connections are reworked, I will move the template to the new location and publish it.
3. I will copy all the existing forms, move them to the new site and paste them there. Then I will redirect the existing forms to the new templates location so that the existing forms will look for the template in the new site.
4. Grant permissions to the users for the new site and start working.
This is in short my plan. If anyone has already done a similar action, can you please confirm my approach. Also I might have skipped something important which can cause me major issues later. I know that lots of experienced users are using this site, that is why I turning to you for some hints.
Regards,
Svetoslav
