InfoPath Dev

I want to use the same list of choices for multiple combo boxes on the form (InfoPath 2007). I know how I can lookup the values from a list on SharePoint but I want the form to be self contained. I see the choice for looking up the values in the Forms data source, but I can not figure out how to create a repeating group or field to implement this appoach. Could someone please point me in the right direction.

Hi Dean,

You may be able o use a resource file that a repeating table/group can pull data from. If you create an xml file with the data in it, then you could include it in the form by attaching it as a resource file and referencing it with a secondary data source connection.  Then you can filter the values based on your needs.

I have had success with this method in the past, and you can transfer the form outside your domain without losing functionality.  I hope this helps !

Patrick, thanks for the suggestion. What is the trick for creating the XML file in an acceptable schema. I made a simple list in Word 2007, saved it as XML, added it a resource file, but when I create the secondary connection to it  I get an Unspecfied Error.
