    Hi Guys

    Unfortunately I can't get the document types to appear despite following the manual activation instructions.

     If you're able to open DAT, that's a good sign.  I'm not quite sure what document types you're expecting to see.  Have you created any yet?

    If you click the white triangle to the left of SYSTEM DOCUMENT TYPES, does it show you the system document types? (i.e. if you expand that section)

    Hi

    Ok that did it.  I wonder why that isn't expanded by default.

    I shall continue working.  Thanks for your help.

    Hi Guys,When running through the initial instructions for the "ExpenseReport2" form, I cannot seem to select "Type text..." - when I click on it, the field remains blank and it does not save the value.  I can manually type "Type text..." but when I do this and preview the form, it does not auto-populate and errors.Any ideas?  It looks classically indicative of a Microsoft bug though!

    Hi

    I should have included the error message which is:

    The query cannot be run for the following DataObject: GetMyInfo
    InfoPath cannot run the specified query.
    The SOAP response indicates that an error occurred on the server:

    System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Server was unable to process request. ---> System.ApplicationException: Unable to connect to active directory.
    This is often caused by being disconnected from the directory's domain.

    I have seen this error before and to the best of my experience it indicates exactly what it says: that you are not connected to the domain that your active directory LDAP string indicates.  Are you in fact connected to a domain with active directory, and if so, could you verify the LDAP string in your web.config file?

    Hi

    My two references in the web.config are:

    <add key="ActiveDirectoryPath" value="LDAP://DC=Southend,DC=nhs,DC=uk" />

    and

    <adService path="LDAP://DC=Southend,DC=nhs,DC=uk">

     The domain that I am indeed connected to is southend.nhs.uk

     I'm not sure what the issue could be, but you could try this to test your ldap:

    Hi

    Ran that and it returned all of my AD information so LDAP definately works.  Perhaps it is just to do with the Infopath form and that it either cannot query AD due to a config error on my part or that it cannot see the domain which is possible depending on the setup.

    I'm not sure where to look first.

    What account are you using for the DBXL application pool?  The default is Network Service, which if the machine is joined with the domain, should have permission to access AD.

    When you rant setup, did it prepopulate the LDAP string or did you have to edit it yourself?

  • 10-23-2009 05:57 AM In reply to

    I'm not sure which application pool the DBXL is using.  How can I find out?

    I don't recall if the LDAP was automatically populated.  Can I test this?
