InfoPath Dev

I have an Infopath form on Sharepoint Website. I have a username field in the form that is bound to userName(). The problem is that it always  says 'Administrator' no matter who is logged in the site. Could someone point out what I am doing wrong or what I need to do different? Thanks.

That's strange. We'd have to look at your form. Is it a Form Services form or is it running in the InfoPath client?

Thanks for your reply. It is an infopath client...maybe that's why it is coming up with the name of the user logged into Windows and not the SharePoint site?

Make sure that your field with userName() function has "Update this field value when the result of the formula is recalculated" checkbox checked.

I have Cheked This CheckBox. It is Not The Problem  

You need to create a rule to update the value of your username field whenever the form is opened. Go to "Tools / Form Options / Open and Save" and add this rule: Action: =fx Set a field's value, Field: @username, Value: username(). You should be good to go.

Two separate issues here:

1) Yes, it always uses the identity of the person logged into Windows, not the web page (SharePoint)

2) If you use a default value, then it sets it once and never resets.  You have to use a rule in Form Options > Open and Save > Rules to do it on form load or with some other button/control rule.
