    How User Role work!

I want my form to contain 2 TextBox controls.

The first one is a TextBox that all user that open the form (open it from SharePoint Libreary) will be able to write in it.

The seconed TextBox - only specifice user will be able to write in it!!! (for all the athers it will be read only)!!!

Should I use User Role for this??

    This is what I did:

On form design -> Tools-> User Roles -> Add -> Role name="Manager" -> I select the specific user!

Now.... In the user roles list I have only ONE role and that's make it to be the DEFAULT role!!!!!!

on the seconde TextBox I did this: Propeties -> Display -> Conditional Formatting -> The condotion= "If User's current role is not equal to "Manager" -> Then apply=Read Only.

The problem is that any one who open the form can write in the second TextBox!!!!

it's not read only - The condition not work or it return FALSE.

What is the meaning of the "IF" conditin when I ask if User's current role is not equal to "Manager" ?

There 2 option as I can see it:

    1) the current user role is "Manager"? (but it will alawys will be "manager" - there no more user roles!!!)

    2) Is the current user belong to "Manager" user role? (That's what I need)

    How to solve my problem??

    Mate,

The thing which I would try if you havn't already. is:

Create two user roles. The first having all of your user's in (An everyone group) and make this your default

Then have your Manager user role with the person you want in it, not as default.

You should now find that everyone logs in as "everyone", but your blokey will log in "manager"

    I will try it But....

Let's say I have in my Activr directory 2 User Grops:

    1) AllUser - Group that contain all organization's users

    2) Manager - Group that contain only 1 specifice user

So I will create 2 User Role as you said: one for group 1 and second for group 2

What will happen if the specific user is contain also in group "AllUser " and also in "Manager ". he will be belong for 2 User control??

    Hi mate,

Don't know exactly how it works but it seems that everyone will be defaulted as logging in as the everyone group, but then if they belong to another group it will log them on as that. Just try to make sure that they are not in more than 2 groups (default and another)

    Keith
