InfoPath Dev

 Hi all! I have a simple InfoPath Form that I publish to SharePoint Online. One field (Cost1) has a formula (Constant1 * Volume + Constant2 + Constant3 * Height). However the value of Constant2 always shows in the field when the form is opened. The field then updates as the user enters data into the other fields (Volume and Height). I want Cost1 to show blank when the user opens the form. I even tried creating a new field (Cost1A) where I have a rule to set the value of Cost1A to equal Cost 1 and not show the Cost1 field. However nothing appears in the field Cost1A. Any ideas?

 If you want the field blank on open, don't use a default, use rules. You need to set the same rules on EVERY field involved - Constant1, Volume, Constant2, Constant3 and Height - because any time any one of these changes, you want to reset Cost1 accordingly.

I'm guessing Constant2 always has a value - is that why Cost1 always shows that value? 

 Thanks for the tips. I'll rework it using rules instead.
