    No SharePoint List Submissions

    Hi There

I am currently test qRules for our SharePoint environment.

We are trying to submit tasks to each user from a repeating table. I am getting no errors however nothing happens when I hit the submit button.

Can u please assist, we will then defiantly be purchasing the software.

    Thanks

    Lee

Hi - I'd be happy to take a look at your template if you want to post in a reply (just add it under the Options tab). Sometimes people disable qRules by accidentally adding code to a template - could that have happened here? If you put the command node and result node from the QdabraRules data source on your form, preview, type:

    GenerateGuid

In the command node and tab out, do you get a GUID in the result node? That's a good way to test that qRules is working correctly in your form.

     Hi Hilary

I have uploaded the file as requested. I added the fields but them both come up blank. I checked and they are not disabled as far as I can tell.

Okay - so when I type GenerateGuid in the command field and tab out, there is a GUID in your result field. That means qRules is working correctly in your form.

In your SubmitToSharePointList command, remove the /mapping parameter, you don't need it.

    SubmitToSharePointList /submit=ShPListSubmit

If you put the Qdabra Rules error node on your form and click the button that executes the command, do you get an error? I think you are going to need to make some changes to submit your people picker data to your list, it appears right now you have the group mapped to Assigned To?

     Hi Hilary

I have made the submit changes, I have also updated the Assigned to mapping to refer to the display name and not the group.

In the error bar I am getting the following error.

The operation failed because an unexpected error occurred. (Result Code: 0x80020005) .

Question I have also included information that is not part of the repeating table in the mappings. Could this be a problem.

Also I am sending the data to a Task list and not a custom list.

    Thanks and Regards

    Check this post:
    http://www.infopathdev.com/blogs/hilary/archive/2013/01/17/qrules-submittosharepointlist-and-a-person-or-group-column-type.aspx

    and this post:

If we are submitting to a person or group column (which is what Assigned To is in the task list) a special syntax is required.

I'd add another field to the form with a default value that uses a double eval statement to concat the account IDs in the people picker and then map that field - let me know if you need a hand with that and I can implement it in your form.

     Hi Hilary

Thanks very much for all your assistance. I have made the relevant changes and seem to still have the same error.

Could please assist as I think I may have missed something in the way I have done it.

Sure, can you attach your latest template? It will be later today when I get a chance to review it.

So - save the attached form locally, right click and select design to open.

I modified the default value for you - I have a different formula that I like better.

Your mapping was odd - the repeating group was wrong. I manually modified it and updated it in the form. Maybe give this one a try and see how it works.

Thanks you for your assistance it is creating the tasks from the repeating tables..

The next thing that I need to add is that  each item must be updated and not created from scratch each time it is submitted.

I am going to give this a shot and will let you know the outcome.

Once this has been tested and working we will purchase the software.

To update an item you need to make sure your SharePoint ID field in the form is getting set the correct ID for an existing item.

    Hi Hilary

Thanks very much for all you assistance I know have the updates working. I do have a question but I think I can get it to work.

If the Task item is updated I want it to update the forms repeating table. This I suppose can be done with rules on form load.

    Thanks and Regards

    Hi Hilary

We have gone ahead and purchased the software. I managed to get the form to update the task however I could not get the task to update the form.

Could we please maybe have a small season regarding this as I think I have now broken something.

This also happened after I redid the update to my fully licensed version.

    Thanks and Regards
