Can I populate a dropdown with a column, from a list with many columns depending on the result of another dropdown?

Hi I have read many solutions but they only relate to a couple of columns. My predicament:-

being limited to the 5000 line rule I decided to split my data to sites, so I have several hundred sites, turned into columns with data lists. Now I am able to do the first cascading drop downs... Region and site based on region (one list with two columns, simple), but now I want to populate a third dropdown by when the second drop down is equal to a site I want the dropdown to locate the column of the site (in the list with the many columns) and use that data. Has anyone done anything like this before? Thank you
