submitting data to several cross-site SP lists

     Hi

My Company wants to push announcements to several cross site lists (preferably announcements lists) using one form. On the form, it must be possible to select one or more destinations. Every destination is a separat team-site.
    Ex:
    Department A (https://MyServer/sites/DepartmentA/Lists/Announcements,
    Department B (https://MyServer/sites/DepartmentB/Lists/Announcements

Is it possible using qRules for a solution like this?

    Thanks in advance

    /Michael

    Hi Michael,

Yes, qRules can submit to lists on different sites. When creating the mapping, make sure to select the option to use the list name. Of course, make sure that your lists (on the different sites) have the same name and the same columns so that the mapping to one list is compatible with all the lists.

Then, on your form, before executing Command = SubmitToSharePointList /mapping=mapping /submit=Submit, make sure to set the URL to your the site you're submitting to, in the mapping secondary data source: /myFields/SharePointListURL

Hope this helps! There's a free trial of qRules available on Qdabra.com.

     Hi Ernesto

Great! I already have qRules, but never used the mapping tool before.

But I get an error when trying to execute the mapping Tool. The message says (translated from Danish..) 'Infopath cannot open new form. The form template tries to get acces to files and settings on the computer. Infopath cannot give acces to the files and settings, because the form template is not full trusted'. And then something about the form has to be installed or digitally signed.

    I´m running Windows 8 / Infopath 2010.
    My qRules version is: 4.0.4408.27505

Can you help me on that or do I have to contact support?

    Thanks in advance!

    /Michael

    Hi Michael,

That message suggests that the form needs to be installed. The mapping tool must be installed per the instructions in the installation guide. Let me know if you have any trouble with the steps.

Since you're on v4.0, it might be worth upgrading to v4.3, since mapping to a list became easier in these recent versions.

    Thanks.

    Hi Michael,

    Two possibilities for this error:

    1. Make sure all InfoPath processes are stopped. That is, close any running instance of InfoPath, as well as opening task manager to make sure no pesky InfoPath process is still running. Then retry.

    2. Make sure to run the command prompt as admin (right click > Run As Admin).

Let me know if eithe of those solve the issue. Thanks.

     Hi Ernesto

Infopath was running as an instance in the background. Closing it made it possible to execute the command.

    Next error:

    file:///C:\Program%20Files%20(x86)\Qdabra%20Software\Qdabra%20Rules%20Library\Forms\Qdabra%20InfoPath%20to%20SharePoint%20List%20Tool.xsn
InfoPath cannot open the form due to an error in the form code.
InfoPath cannot load the form, because Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 is not installed or not working.

A floating attribute may not be passed as the context node for an XSLT transform or an XPath Query.

(the first two lines translated from Danish)

     Any clue?

    Thanks

    /Michael

    Hi Michael,

This form uses code and due to that uses Microsoft .NET Framework. Could you check whether this is installed on your computer?

    Thank you.

     Hi Ernesto

.NET Framework is installed on my computer....

I´ve uninstalled qRules and installed Again. qRules Injector works fine, but the forms are still not working. The error message says the same about .NET Fremework not installed or not working plus this line:
Could not load file or assembly 'ipdmctrl, Version=11.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

    Thanks

    Hi Michael,

Which version of .NET Framework is installed?

I don't believe that uninstalling/reinstalling qRules will make a difference. The problem is with forms with code, which is why you're seeing the error about .NET Framework. Perhaps you could try to repair .NET Framework?

     Hi Ernesto

Had to use Win 7 to get it working! Haven´t found a way to repair .NETframework 3.5 on my win 8 machine. Either google or local support could fix that.

    Regarding SubmitToSharepointlist Command:
My plan is to use the announcements list on top of a sitecollections. I will add a location choicefield at the form, so the user can send to one or more locations. Locations will be websiteA/announcements etc.

I know I asked you before, but is this possible with qRules?

    Thanks in advance!

    /Michael

    Hi Ernesto

I bought the 4.3 version yesterday.
On my Win8 pc I cannot register the List Tool (error message: cannot find Infopath!) but it Works on my xtra Win7 pc.
Is there another workaround to register on Win8 ?
