SharePoint Designer 2010 Workflow with InfoPath 2010 Form with Repeating Table

    Hi All,

With many thanks to Hilary for the answer from a previous question I had posted, I have been able to progress to about 90% of my solution.

I can read everything into my Workflow from my InfoPath Form except for the contents of a repeating table that I have. (well everything except the first row of that repeating table)
There doesn't seem to be that much information on the web about this ...

So I have a repeating table that holds line items for an order placed to a seafood distributor. If there is only one line item, the solution works a treat. But if there is more than one line item, I cannot get access to the second, third, fourtt and so on records. I wll be submitting all of these records to a SQL Server 2008 R2 database through a custom web service that I have already built and tested.

I am just not sure at all about how to process the contents of the repeating table.

Again, any help or material would be greatly appreciated.

Oh, repeating data in IP is a bear with SharePoint.

You can promote the fields as "merged" - that gives you a list of items from your repeating field. You can't edit that data in the library, though, so hopefully none of the data you want to edit is in your repeating group.

If you are reading data - putting it back together may be a little challenging, because I think what happens is blanks are skipped. So if your repeating table looks like this:

    Item Amount
    Basket $10
    Bunny Slippers
    Chocolate Rabbits $13

Then your SharePoint column data will look like this:
    Item Amount
    Basket
    Bunny Slippers
    Chocolate Rabbits
    $10

    $13

Might be a bit yucky, you know?

You want to test this tho - I think the last time I really looked at it was with ShP 2007 / IP 2007, so if you are on 2010, you may have different (better) behavior....
