Redirecting to another browser based form

Im having the same requirement as someone posted in infopath dev forum couple of months back. Im reposting his post again.

I have a form library containing Infopath forms. I am having Back and Next buttons on Infopath forms. I want functionality that when user clicks on the "Next" button it should redirect user to the next browser based Infopath form. If user clicks on the Back button on the Infopath form it should redirect user to the Previous browser based infopath form in the form library. Basically I need Redirecting functionality on an Infopath button. When user clicks on the button he should be redirected to another browser based Infopath form. Writting Response.Redirect on the Form submit event doesnt do anything.

If anyone knows solution for this requirement, or any alternative ideas, that would be really really great help and will save my life..

    Thanks a lot in advance.

    Hi Jacob,

I think this can be done using code. Greg has a blog post with samples on how you can achieve that using code. But if I may suggest - why not use a hyperlink and point it to the browser form URL, something like:

    http://site/_layouts/formserver.asmx?XsnLocation=http://site/FormTemplates/template.xsn&OpenIn=browser

That would be an easier way to do it.

    Jo-Anne,

Thankyou so much for your reply and idea of putting hyperlinks....Really appreciated...

Actually, I was looking for the code and you refer post by Greg... Thats nice and i was looking for the same way, But Greg has used code for IP 2003, and im using IP 2010....

Do you have any idea how it can be done in IP 2010 using custom codes???

    Hi Jacob,

I'm afraid you might have to do a search on that. Lots of stuff exists in this forum which can be similar to what you're doing, such as: http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/p/18162/63382.aspx#63382.

    Jo-Anne,

Thanks a lot for the link....I think i will go with the hyperlinks like you have suggested....It looks much easier to gain that functionality with hyperlinks...

    Thank you so much...

    Hi Jacob,

Sorry I'm not sure how to do that. But you can try creating an InfoPath Form Web Part and use the browser link to your new form. Your users will see the new (blank) form in the Web Part everytime they access the page.

Re: Redirecting to another browser based form

    Hi Jo-Anne,

It worked....What i did was, i put the form in the infopath form web part....Below that web part, added Content Editor Web Part.....And on that web part, added hyperlinks to another form page....When i clicked on that hyperlink, took me to another form in the same window....This forum is really really good...I liked it...And Thanks a lot for all those responses and suggestions...Appreciated....

Now having some other problem in infopath, unrelated to this topic...So, im starting another thread with issues...Hope you would help me on that too...

    Thanks

    Jacob...

    Hi Jacob,

Actually, I haven't tried that yet, thank you for posting the steps! I will try to look for your other post if I have time. =)

Surely, you'll find this forum as a great resource for InfoPath. There are lots of content that you can find useful. Try searching, maybe your problem has already been posted before. =)
