How do I import an Infopath Form into an Infopath Form

I have created about a dozen infopath form that I need to consolidate into a single form as well. Is there a quick way to do this? Can I import the existing forms into a new one or will I have to recreate all the forms again. I am using Infopath 2007 but I have access to Infopath 2010 as well. kthxbye

You might be able to do this via a brute force method.  It will still be a lot of manual labor.  NOTE:  I haven't tried this yet.

    What if you do this:

    • Save each of your forms using the "Save as Source Files" method.
    • Take the myschema.xsd file from each, and combine them in to one, being careful that you do not have any duplicate elements
    • Then create a new form using "Design a Form Template", and then picking "XML or Schema" and point to your combined Schema.
    • Then you can copy and paste your design of your forms into the new form **
    • ** HOWEVER you will have to manually re-link all of your fields to the new schema fields, by right-clicking on the field and choosing "Change Binding".

I guess the better question is, what are you trying to achieve with the new form?  Are you truly combining 12 disparate forms into one big long form (probably not a good idea) or are you combining forms with very similar data sources (i.e. mostly the same fields) and will show the variations using views?

Hi suehernandez, And thanks for the quick reply. The objective is actually the requirement I have to fulfill. All forms must exist as single forms and a single form but also exist as a composite - a single form. They do have similar and related fields and would share resource files. I have considered this brute force method, but its as just as good as a copy paste. I would still have to manually change bindings and set all the rules again. I was actually wondering if there was some way I missed - an import button or something. But Thank you for replying kthxbye

Yea sorry, I don't know of any way to import.  The only thing I can think of is using "Template Parts" but I honestly don't know anything about those.  I just know it's an option when you go to create a new form.

"Design a template part that can be inserted and updated in multiple forms".
