    qRules Submit to Sharepoint list

I'm using Hilarys guide, qRules submit to sharepoint list. I have a form with a repeating table, when I update an existing posting in the form a new posting is created in the Sharepoint list instead of updating the existing.

I have created the id field - I wonder what I'm missing or have done wrong. Any idea?

Thanks for great tools  - both Rules and DBXL

Is the id being populated back into your id field after your initial submit?

I have this qRules command in the Submit button: "SubmitToSharePointList /submit=ShpListSubmit /mapping=mapping /id=my:id" but I get no data in the id field in the form. Will qRules fill in a value in the id field or where does the value come from ? I'm sorry I'm a bit stupid.

You are not stupid at all. qRules should be filling in a value in the id field on successful submit. Can you attach a copy of your form (under the Options tab)?

It sounds as if your items are being submitted successfully, but the id field is not being populated. I'd like to take a look and see if there is anything obviously awry.

I don't see anything off hand. Can you put the Errors node from the Qdabra Rules data source on your form and try again, see if any errors are displayed?

    There are no errors.

I have tried to do some changes in the path to the id field, then I get errors. It’s now as it was before and I get an ID value – I wonder why.But It’s working J J which is the most important.

Thanks for the update - I'll add that originally your form was set to:

    1. Submit XML to SharePoint library
    2. Submit to SharePoint List via qRules
    3. Close the form

Since the XML was submitted before the qRules command was run, the id fields were blank when the XML was saved in the library. You then switched the order, so you were using the qRules command first, and the id fields were populated before the XML was submitted.
