    Saving forms

Hi guys, i need an advice of yours:)

I'd like to make user save my form with a specified name. My idea is not to allow saving the form using the buttons from the menu, but to add a button and to implement the saving procedure by code. I don't think it's hard...but to ask the directory to the user i need to use an inputbox (since I MUST use VBScript) and this is not well appreciated by my colleagues...so: is there a simple way to asking the directory to the users (avoiding using further fields in the form)? do I have to change my "idea" to avoid saving from menu? Can I choose the name of the file using File-->Save?

Let me know what do you think of it!

    Hi,

Yes you can. In Tools / Form Options / Open and Save Tab, check the Save Using Custom Code. This will create an OnSaveRequest event handler for you.
In there you need to use the XDocument.UI.SetSaveAsDialogLocation to achieve what you are looking for.

    Great! I didn't know XDocument.UI.SetSaveAsDialogLocation and, above all, XDocument.UI.SetSaveAsDialogFileName! They're useful!
Thank u! I'm wondering if I cannot stop the saving procedure (eventObj.ReturnStatus = False ) if the path chosen by the user doesn't like me (for example if the user wants to save the form in the sharepoint site...); but how to know the path chosen by the user before the form is saved?

I see that eventObj.FileName where eventObj is a Save Event can help me...
