Hi, can you check that framework 2.0 is installed ? and try to repair your office installation and choose "Run all from my computer " for InfoPath.

I have .NET framework 4..does that work..please see screenshot

Hi, can you check the programming language:
Go to Tools -> Form Options -> Programming Section

Check the language for programming /select the desired language

I selected VB Script this screen opened up

after filling the above code..I previewed the file..it gives the following error

You're getting that most recent error because the code you entered is for the VB.NET 2007 OM, not VBScript.  As to the previous error, make sure the code project path in the form properties indicates an actual folder where you have write permissions.

I changed the coding method to VB through the form properties and tried again. I got a series of messages and then this error please see attached screeenshot

I am also attaching a series of messages that were shown before that error (above screenshot) appeared.

and followed by this transient message

The second time after this error appeared, I tried adding code again I received a 3 messages/errors please see screenshot below

Have you considered just running a repair of your InfoPath install? Your screenshots show Visual Studio 2010 in one -- are you trying to create a new IP project in VS2010? 'Cause VS2010 doesn't have an IP template. If you want to use Visual Studio, you'll need to use 2008 or 2005. Otherwise, you'll want to use VSTA. It seems like repairing (or reinstalling) IP may be what you need to do.
