    Count digital signatures?

    Hi,

    I have a form that will have a variable number of reviewers each time it is filled out. Because of this, I have the list of reviewers being generated in a repeating table and a separate section that allows for multiple digital signatures.

    I want to create a workflow that generates an approval notification once the number of signatures equals the number of reviewers. I can count the number of reviewers from table, but count() is not outputting the correct number of signatures. Is there a different way to count the number of signatures on an InfoPath form?

    Thanks,
    Katherine

    Hi Katherine,

    Probably the easiest thing to do is to have a little code in your form that intercepts the OnSign event and increments a field. You could tie it to submit and do it in a rule (without code) but that would assume they sign it before submitting.

    Re: Count digital signatures?

    Hi Patrick,

    Thank you so much for your response. I am a non-programmer, but I would like to learn. I feel like this should be an easy coding task in my form.

    I've been doing quite a bit of research, and this is what I have so far. I've gone to Tools --> Programming -->  Sign Event, so now I'm looking at:

    Public Sub FormEvents_Sign(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As SignEventArgs)
                ' This event handler will run only in fully trusted form templates.

                Dim thisSignature As Signature = e.SignedDataBlock.Signatures.CreateSignature

                ' To add other pieces of information to sign, modifying the
                ' signature template returned by
                ' thisSignature.SignatureBlockXmlNode.
                ' Write your code here.

                thisSignature.Sign()
                e.SignatureWizard = False

    I want something simple...each time a specific section gets signed, a field is incremented. But I do not know Visual Basic, so I'm stuck...

    I think I want to use something like: if (this.Signed)

    Can you give me more guidance with the code?

    Thanks!
    Katherine
