I am using Infopath Forms Services. Users have been having some issues with keeping a form open too long and losing data, so I included a Save button on the form in order to prevent them from losing data, and I also increased the session time in Central Administration. I've been using PerfMon on the MOSS Server. In Perfmon I am monitoring the 'State Server Sessions Active', 'Requests Current', 'Sessions Active', and # of 'Forms in Memory' counters. Please note I have everything set up in web.config and have configured session state for the forms in Central Administration. What I am seeing in Perfmon isn't making any sense to me. All sessions always are = to zero, except 'Server Sessions' which always equals 1, no matter what actions I take on the browser. When I create a new Form, the '# of Forms in Memory' goes to 1 as expected. When I save the data, and continue to work in the form without closing it, it goes to 2, which is unexpected to me. Every time I save the form, without closing it in the browser, the '# of Forms in Memory' goes up by one, which I obviously would not expect. Does anyone have any ideas what is going on? One thing to note: I have created a 'Save' button, so I'm not using the Save button that Infopath Forms Services Uses. My save button code uses a data connection to submit the data to the server, but the file name is the same, and it is not creating a new form, which is how I want it to work.
Thanks and great forum!!
