Mark as Not AnswerMark as Answer... Reply Contact Hello warrtalon, I hope you are still responding to this board. First, I would like to thank you for the numerous times your advice has helped me with an InfoPath issue. I have never posted before, because I always seem to be able to find the answer somewhere out there. Anyways, this is the first time I am posting. My question may seem dumb, but I cannot find the answer anywhere. I work for a company that is still using SP2007 and Office/InfoPath 2007. We are looking to migrate to SP2010 in the next month or so, and probably Office/InfoPath 2010 within the next 6 months. I have already upgraded at home to both SP2010 and Office/InfoPath 2010. I have designed an InfoPath form using the following link http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/infopath-help/create-an-infopath-only-view-of-a-browser-compatible-form-template-HA010151439.aspx. It describes my problem perfectly. I have some users that have InfoPath installed (internal) and those who don't (external). I developed the form with the associated views, one browser view and one InfoPath only view. After developing the form, I needed to test. I went home and accessed the form through the portal on my home PC (Office/InfoPath 2010). I assumed that the form would not open in InfoPath 2010, and I was correct. However, the form does not open in the browser either. InfoPath 2010 stops the form from opening in a browser, but will also not display in InfoPath 2010. I tested the form on a virtual machine that does not have Office/InfoPath installed, and it worked perfectly opening in a browser. So my concern is if someone that has Office/InfoPath 2010 installed tries to access the form, they will not have access. Is there any way to get a 2007 form to open in 2010? Or is there any way to get the form to open in the browser if 2010 is installed? Keep in mind that many parts of the InfoPath only view are not browser compatible, so I don't really want to force the form to browser only. Any help would be appriciated. 09-20-2011 11:17 PM In reply to warrtalon Joined on 12-14-2007 Denver, CO Posts 980 Re: InfoPath 2010 questions? Ask here. Mark as Not AnswerMark as Answer... Reply Contact Shawncho, there is definitely no limitation to opening 2007 forms in 2010, so I don't know what the issue is here. I only use Infopath 2010, but I still have clients and solutions where everything is built in 2007. There is no problem with opening and interacting with a 2007 Filler form in the 2010 Filler.I can also say I never build split-functionality forms. The form template should either be a browser form or client form, imo, but that doesn't mean your technique can't work. We have a Purchase Request form, designed in IP2010 and using SPD2007 for the workflow. Everything is fine and the forms are being raised and authorised without issue. However, I've been asked to design a replacement form with some new features, some of which are working ok. I do however need to include a curreny converter, so the Purchasing staff can convert the amount in the total box, to £ (GBP). We have given the option to users to allow them to raise a PR form in $ or € so when they complete their form, it is submitted with the total amount in that currency. However, we need to get the totals in the form library all in £. I'm thinking something along the lines of a hidden box, which is only visible to the purchasing staff of their view, so they can put in the correct value, which then changes the total value. I'm hoping you could provide more clarity though!! :) Thanks for your help Warrtalon Kind regards James 09-21-2011 04:34 AM In reply to Shawncho Joined on 09-21-2011 Posts 3 Re: InfoPath 2010 questions? Mark as Not AnswerMark as Answer... Reply Contact Jay, I would use a currency conversion web service like this one: http://www.webservicex.net/WS/WSDetails.aspx?CATID=2&WSID=10. Put that in your form and auto-convert currency for $ forms and store the converted value in your other field so that every form has the currency type you want regardless of what the user sees. Reply Contact If this is a LIST FORM TEMPLATE, then it can only be published to the list it is bound to, which is why you only see Quick Publish on a list form template. If it's a library form template, then you'd see 3 options for publishing. What kind of template did you create? How did you initially create it? What do you mean by "tied to two SharePoint lists"? A list form can only be "tied" to one list, so were you talking about data connections or something else? Reply Contact Environment: Office/InfoPath 2010 on my local machine with end users using Office/InfoPath 2007 Greetings, First, I would like to apologize if this has already been answered. I have put numerous hours into searching for a resolution to this, but have come up empty...hence finally asking on the forum. I have an InfoPath 2007 form that I have been enhancing in 2010. I attempted to add a few PeoplePicker controls and use those to feed the Submit to Email connection. Quite often, there are multiple people selected. I managed to get everything working perfectly in 2010 (double-eval trick was mighty helpful). However, when I went to test on a 2007 machine, I ran into issues. I was able to get the People picker control to work in 2007 (it isn't pretty, but it does function). The current issue I am facing is that Outlook 2007 doesn't seem to be able to handle the DisplayName like Outlook 2010 can. If we only had single users being entered, I could just have them enter the userID manually and just add the "@company.com" in a function. But, they need to be able to select/enter multiple users. I thought about just pulling the AccountID and stripping the Domain off, but I cannot seem to find a function to do this. Any ideas on how I can get this to work? I would like to try and avoid custom code if possible. Thanks in advance!! Thanks for the quick response. The split functionality is a nice feature and works really nice....when it works. I am sure I will find the answer....or give up and just make it a browser form.

Yes, it is a List Form Template. It was created by File > New > SharePoint List > Design Form > (server site address). I have two SP Lists that I am pulling data in from on the form. So I access the SP Admin site and try to upload the template so it will be available for use and that is where I get the error that it cant be uploaded.
I was able to Upload my form template on the Manage Form Templates central admin page however when I attempt to Activate to a Site Collection I get the following Error:
The form template could not be activated to the following site collection: http://sharepoint:18031. You do not have the permissions required to perform this operation.
