Populating a repeating table from a drop down list

    Hello,

I am trying to populate a column in a repeating table with a value that a user selects from a separate drop down list.  The reason I have the list separate is because it shows a lengthy description along with the value and the table only needs to have the value.  When the user adds additional rows to the repeating table, I want the drop down list to populate only the new row that they have added with the selected value from the drop down list.  The problem is that the repeating table populates the entire column with whatever value was selected from the drop down list last.  How can I tell it just to populate the blank new rows and not previous rows?

    Thanks,
    Aaron

    Patrick,

Thanks for your help.  I did check out those links but I think some of it went over my head.  From what I was able to gather, preciding/sibling is used for autonumbering.  I wanted to have a drop down list populate a cell in a repeating table only for the added new row and not all rows.  Maybe I am missing something.  I attached a simple XSN which shows my problem.  Could you be a little more specific on how I can do this?  I would greatly appreciate it.

    Thanks again,
    Aaron
