you can have many content types for a single document libary. so that means u can have many form templates for the same document library by publishing them as content type and activating them to the site and adding them to the doc lib

 hey..thanks so much for the help. it worked. I could now view it using a IE, but I do have one more problem...when we upload documents in this library, they are tagged to also show up in other pages (other parts of sharepoint)...now these are tagged to show up in one page, but when I open it to this page (this page is like only a view), I still end up opening it on infopath, so am thinking that it might still be an error to other people....I tried editing the pages, but does not seem to have any areas for me to configure it to show up on the web...any advice?

well i dont get you properly, do you mean you upload normal files, like *.doc, *.ppt etc to this document library, and those also tend to open in browser.

or is it some other problem.

just one question cant you create one more document library for the normal docs if you face problems with them

 Hi there, thanks for replying...our sharepoint is created to look like an internal website...so those who have permission can upload documents, like .doc or pdf, or in this case infopath... so assuming i uploaded it to  our website at this document library http://example/infopath.aspx ...i can edit this document to also tag it to show up in other parts of our internal website, say http://example/documents.aspx ... so most people would upload it on one page (mostly there is a few pages for uploading document) and the other pages are for viewing these documents, etc..., in this case would upload it to http://example/infopath.aspx .... now when a document is tagged, it shows up in other pages, in this case it shows up in the page http://example/documents.aspx ... apparently, it is not a document library, but a page (like a view) and when I open the infopath document through this page, it makes me use the infopath software, unlike now, when I open it through http://example/infopath.aspx, i can now open it through internet explorer....

Go to settings -> form library settings -> advanced settings. Set opening browser enabled forms to  display as webpage

that should resolve your problem

 

hi i'm a newbie in sharepoint and infopath...

i'm implementing a sharepoint site in our company... i was successful in creating infopath web-compatible forms and also saving them in the document library but when a user in client machine wants to open it if he has infopath installed , document will open in infopath application instead of web browser... and if the user doesn't have infopath installed a xml code script will be shown like this :

ps. i just suspected that when i create forms they are saved as *.xml instead of *.xsn

when i upload an *.xsn form i don't have any problems with editing it in web or infopath  

Jigzy, did you publish the form to a form library, or as a content type? 

hi can you confirm that the document library is set like this : In the Browser-enabled Documents section of the Form Library Advanced Settings page, as shown in the following, select the Display as Web page

Under Form Options / Compatibility, you can set the compatibility to browser. Or you can use Save As and save as a browser form.
