    How/can I move a copy of an InfoPath form to a new form Library using a designer workflow

    I have two working InfoPath forms in a SharePoint Form Library with a column for "Status".  What I need to do, is when status is changed by a user, the form needs to be copied (or moved) to a new form library (with different permissions) and deleted from the original library.

    I have created the new form Library and set it up just like the original, and I have created a workflow to create an item in the new library when the "status" is changed.  Everything appears to be working correctly, but if I try to open the InfoPath form in the new library I see the following message:

      <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>

    <!-- _locID="Comment01"   --> f(clean);
      <comment>Replace this file with a template file type supported by your Windows SharePoint Services-compatible forms editor</comment>

    I am using content types and the appropriate content types are recognized in both libraries.

    What am I missing?  Is what I am trying to do possible?  This seems like a relatively simple task, but I don't know where else to look to determine what the problem is.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Showet and welcome,

    Good to hear that both content types are recognized by the form libraries - I thought that was your problem at first.

    Definitely, this is possible, but something with how you have configured your workflow looks wrong. You should verify that you are indeed moving the XML correctly. The XML in the message looks like some bogus placeholder XML. Maybe the workflow was a sample one and you are hardcoding something. Our InfoPath Workflows training class covers this topic, but to figure out what you are doing wrong, we'd have to look at your workflow more closely. Something simple probably.

    Thanks for your reply, the workflow was as simple as I could make it.  It was done with SharePoint designer and there was no hard coding.

    Since I needed to move on this, I changed things and I am using "send to" from the first library to the second then I put a workflow on the second library to clean up the first library.  This works at least for now.

    Thanks again for your help.
