    SaveToSharepoint Command

After toying around with your product for some time today I am at a loss.

I have followed the direction but nothing happens after clicking my submit button.

Is there a way to troubleshoot this to see where the problem is..

    Thanks,

    Hi,

How you are submitting the form? If you are using submit options then the SharePoint url to where the form will be submitted must be existed. Once open that url in any IE page and check whether it is opening or not.

    Re: SaveToSharepoint Command

Well currently I am using a barebones form with just the SaveToSharepoint qRule. Funny thing is now after toying around with it some I managed to get it to work somewhat. Before let me go into detail how our SharePoint is setup. We access SharePoint via external URL only because all of our employees are not onsite. So inturn we use it just like a normal website keying our credentials in once we go to the URL. With that said the form will work at the office when I am using a machine on the domain and typing in the public URL. Now when I do this at home like any of our employees would do the form will load and I can select the file. Once I click the button to post the file to the SharePoint document library i am presented with a qdabra Rules Error. The details state that "Error: Cannot access URL 'http://http://<My URL>/documents/MyDocLib'. The odd thing is why the double http:// when I am at home and not at work? Also for some reason the qRulesLink and the qRulesFilename will render the full url to the file as just regular text even though I said the text box will contain hyperlinks. Also I though one of the boxes was to just to contain a clickable link with a simple name and the other was to show the full url as clickable.

Is there a way to get the sample form that was show in the video showing the different ways to use this control?

    Thanks for any help.

    Re: SaveToSharepoint Command

I was able to get your sample to work but when I try to recreate it on my  form I am still faced with the issue of it not working.

What I have is a repeating table with 6 columns the last column contains the attachment control with the button to submit to SharePoint.

I believe the issues is with the xpath but I have tried moving the field 'Attachment' with the 'qRulesLink' and 'qRulesFilename' under it to different areas in the myFields tree.

The first being nested in the repeating table group

    SaveToSharePoint /url=http://<my Url>/Band_Documents /xpath=//my:myFields/my:ActivityGroup/my:Activity/my:RelatedDocsGroup/my:Attachment

So I figured this may have been to much so I "Moved" the group to the root of the myFields.

    SaveToSharePoint /url=http://<my Url>/Band_Documents /xpath=/my:myFields/my:RelatedDocsGroup/my:Attachment

It sill reacts the same way to where I select the file and it will show up in the box with its corresponding icon. However once I click submit to SharePoint nothing happens.

    Any ideas..

    Re: SaveToSharepoint Command

Well I must assume there was some extra code in my form that was causing the issue.

I have started to rebuild the form and I have managed to get the file attachment working. I would like to point out some some issues or clearifations that may need to be addressed in the documentation.

1 - Where it states to change qRulesLink and qRulesFilename to hyperlinks caused some confusion because you can go into the properties of the text boxes and change the data type to Hyperlink (anyURI). This however only displays the full URL Path to the attachment and it not clickable. It wasn’t until I looked at the example provided that I noticed you only inserted a Hyperlink from the Insert menu and added the references to the data sources.

2 - What is the differeance between qRulesLink and qRulesFilename. I am to assume that one stores the complete path and the other just stores the file name. I would like the form to only display the file name to where I can click it, but for some reason it renders the complete path to the file. Is this issue something I am missing from reading the instructions?

    Thanks,

    Re: SaveToSharepoint Command

    hi,

i'm trying to implement a file attachment with qrules in order to upload files with this form on sharepoint library (and after that a workflow will take this attachment and send an email with this file).

However i don't understand very well the qrules readme file on how to implement the fields on the infopath using "save to sharepoint" command .

Is there someone that can help me?

I've created the file attachment control on the form, with its field; on data source "qdabra rules(Secondary)" i've created the groups and fields like it says on readme. But where have i to write the command line?

    Hi giangy11,

Can you take a look at http://www.infopathdev.com/files/folders/qrules/entry40104.aspx? If this does not answer your questions, please let us know.

    Thanks!

    thank you for the link

i've followed the guide but when a insert the formula i've this error:

    Expected value type: end-of-string

    Actual value: :
    SaveToSharePoint /url=http-->:<--//adhocserver/clienti/Email%20inviate/xpath=/my:myFields/my:Image

What is wrong on the link i wrote?

What must be the rule action? "set a field's value"?

Also when i click on preview form , upload the image, click on execute, a new message error appears:

    Usage is:

    SaveToSharePoint
     /url=SharePoint Library URL
     [/dsname=Data Source Name]
     /xpath=XPath to Picture(s) or Attachment(s)

    thank you

Yes, the action is Set a Field's value.

Can you paste the full command you are attempting to use? I believe you are missing a space between parameters.

if i put a space between url end and "/xpath":

    SaveToSharePoint /url=http://adhocserver/clienti/Email%20inviate /xpath=/my:myFields/my:Image

when i preview it gives this error:

    Re: SaveToSharepoint Command

this error is caused maybe because i'm trying this form on infopath installed on win64 instead of win32 where i've developed it?

Because if i try to preview it on infopath on win32 it doesn't work "cannot open selected form"

    Re: SaveToSharepoint Command

In your win32 machine, what version of Office do you have? We've seen this error with SP1. Please upgrade to SP2.

PS: The SaveToSharepoint command won't usually work in preview. The form needs to be opened from SharePoint in order to have permissions to write (the attachment) back into SharePoint. Previewing from your local machine usually doesn't grant enough permissions.
