Publish to email with a query from database connection

Good day, Please i'm working on designing a workflow application that needs to pull from a database and submit to a database or email depending on who is currently viewing and I have a question: I have successfully designed the form but getting an error message when trying to publish to email. is it possible to publish to email when the template is designed to connect to a database?or how else can i achieve what i'm trying to achieve. Sharepoint is currently not live in my organisation. I'll appreciate if anyone can help..... Thank you.

    Hi

You cannot publish a form template to a list of e-mail message recipients if the form template contains a query data connection. If you need to display data from an external data source, store the data from the external data source in a resource file (resource file: A file created outside of InfoPath, such as an .html, .xml, or .xsd file, which is added to a form template to support the functionality of the form.). Then you can include this resource file with the form template.

     Hi

Below are the steps to add resource file in form template

    1.Open Infopath in design mode
    2.Go to Tools Menu
    3.Select Resource Files
    4.Click 'Add' button
    5.Browse the file
    6.Click Ok

Thanks Madhuri for the response. Please i have a few more questions. The data I'm working with is very large (data of about 5,000 employees). If I store the data in a resource file, won't it be too heavy for email?

I've checked the link. You said in your earlier post that the only way, i can get to query a datasource from email is by including it as a resource file. my question is including a data file that is as large if not larger than 200Mb as a resource file with the template, won't it be a problem publishing it to email? Sharepoint is currently not live in our organisation and we need to achieve an offline application. Your advice would be appreciated.

Hi,thanks for your help so far. I've reduced the size of the xml file and included it as a resource file. Want to find out, is there a way i can query the xml data? For example, I input an ID and it checks the xml data for one that has that ID and displays all the data related to it. Thanks
