I started with a blank template, added a single data field (to the document database), added a text box and bound the text box to the data field. I then signed the form, gave it full permissions and published it to a network ... Posted to General (Forum) by highlysceptical on 03-08-2018 How to migrate a Document Information Panel to a New Sharepoint Server I created various DIPs for Word 2007 documents in InfoPath and published them to a Sharepoint 2010 server. I now need to decommission that server and migrate everything to a new server running Sharepoint 2013 but still keep my DIPs . Can anyone explain to me how to do this? I have spent hours and hours trawling the internet, and cannot ... Posted to SharePoint Integration (Forum) by highlysceptical on 03-07-2018 Re: Can I change the server path in my existing Word Document Information Panels That's interesting. They are the custom fields I want to use. So it looks like it has broken the link between the document and the Sharepoint site. If I could achieve the same thing, it would be fine - even in Word 2007, the properties / fields are available even if the Sharepoint site is not. The problem is the 5 or 6 dialogs I have ... Posted to General (Forum) by highlysceptical on 03-07-2018 Re: Can I change the server path in my existing Word Document Information Panels I am just wondering if you are using a later version of Word? I gather DIP functionality was discontinued in 2013 / 2016, so if you do not have the functionality, maybe Word just ignores all the associated data? (Second file attached to this post) Posted to General (Forum) by highlysceptical on 03-07-2018 Re: Can I change the server path in my existing Word Document Information Panels That is really strange. When I open the Blank Report document in Word 2007, I get a string of dialogs / errors before I can actually access the document. I have created two files showing them - I will have to attach them to two separate posts as it will only allow me to add up to 500K per post. Posted to General (Forum) by highlysceptical on 03-07-2018 Re: Can I change the server path in my existing Word Document Information Panels Hilary Not sure what difference it makes in terms of accessing the XML, but here is a .docx file created from one of the templates. I suppose that for new documents, I can just re-create the templates, so I don't need to edit the XML of the templates. But presumably, if it is possible to do so, the process would be the same for both the ... I have had to zip the file as it won't allow me to upload a .dotx file. But it is not confidential - it is just a template. I have never tried opening one of these files on a computer outside our system, but I presume it will exhibit the same behaviour on your computer as it is doing on ... Posted to General (Forum) by highlysceptical on 03-06-2018 Can I change the server path in my existing Word Document Information Panels I have a number of custom document information panels which I published to our SharePoint site on our SBS 2011 server. We have now upgraded our server so the original SharePoint site no longer exists. So now, if I open any document which links to the old SharePoint server, have to click through at least four prompts before Word stops ...
