  • Re: General Solution Question

Thanks for all the suggestions and help. I was able to come to a satisfactory result. My web form has two pages (or views). the first one shows one record at a time based on the query. the second one shows a list of records from the same database based on 3 seperate filter fields. Both pages of the web form use the main data source. I have ...

  • Re: Data Connections

I don't have the benefit of being able to set up a web service where I'm at. All I have available to me is just a direct connection from InfoPath to a small MS Access database. Is there any way to still accomplish what I described in the first posting on this thread?

Oops. goofed there with the reply. Okay, I have made progress. I added a button on my default view that will (1) run a query using my secondary data connection and (2) automatically switch over to my 'report listing' view. That's good. Now, is there any way to make this query (using a secondary data connection) conditional? I'd like to ...

quote:Originally posted by Shanthi Hello Ray, You can go to Tools -> Data connections and add more query or recieve data connections to this MS access database. Set this data connection to not get data on load of the form. This can be done in the last page of the wizard. Once the data connection is created, Add a button to the view and in ...

  • Re: Data Connections

I must be missing something here. I see that secondary data sources can be set up to either submit *OR* receive, but not both. I don't see in your links where it allows you to do both. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

  • Data Connections

Can secondary data connections be set up to submit and receive data? I'd like to create a couple of query options on my form. The first query will use the main connection and it will retrieve a single record. Both query and data fields will be entered and displayed from the main form (default view). The second query (or data connection) ...

  • General Solution Question

New to InfoPath. I'd just like to ask for some suggestions for a general solution. I have an MS Access database of info that is used to track about 1000 pc names on a network and whether a given name is currently used, unused, or corrupt. It also tracks the office location and some other technical details. I have created an InfoPath form that ...

  • Re: Drop Down List source an DB update

Nevermind. I resolved my own problem. I apparently defined a relationship between my 3 secondary master tables and my main data table in the Data Sources section of InfoPath. I removed those relationships, deleted my drop down boxes, and re-defined the same dropdown boxes. I can now add and update my MS Access database as I intended. And, my ...

  • Drop Down List source an DB update

I have a form that I want to use to update and add records to a MS Access database. Three of the fields on the form should be drop down selection boxes. My database consists of 4 tables. One is the main table where I store all the detail. The other 3 tables consist of master lists that I was hoping to use as the selection criteria for the ...
