    Data Connections

Can secondary data connections be set up to submit and receive data?

I'd like to create a couple of query options on my form.

The first query will use the main connection and it will retrieve a single record. Both query and data fields will be entered and displayed from the main form (default view).

The second query (or data connection) should accept data from two different fields and use it to retrieve a subset list of data from the same table used in the first query. The data will be displayed on an alternate view using a repeating section.

I will have seperate buttons for the two seperate queries. Still not sure how to go about accomplishing this. Does it sound like I'm on the right track? Can I do this? Can my second query be set up to depend on the input of two fields? My secondary data connection only has dataFields and no queryFields when viewed in the 'data source' window.

    thanks.

    Hello

You can use secondary data connections to submit and recieve Data connections. For more information on this please read the Links below

I must be missing something here. I see that secondary data sources can be set up to either submit *OR* receive, but not both. I don't see in your links where it allows you to do both. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

The only one that allows you to have both is a Web Service connection.

I don't have the benefit of being able to set up a web service where I'm at. All I have available to me is just a direct connection from InfoPath to a small MS Access database.

Is there any way to still accomplish what I described in the first posting on this thread?
