This seems like very basic functionality, no answers? 

 I'm just using a submit button whose properties are set to submit to the SharePoint list.  However, the initial list data is entered before the form user ever brings up the form.  The form users are supposed to verify that the information is accurate, add a few fields (cell phone, preferred name, etc.), then save the data back ...

I'm not certain what did it, but I was able to get the form to work in Preview.  Thank you so much for your help!  Andy 

In addition, the debug section appears to be displaying the entire list. A 

 Odd, I went back into the last form you sent me, deleted the rule under field 1, and now the form is populating, but field1 isn't and the form is populating with information other than mine. A 

I deleted that rule and also deleted one on the Admission-GradDegree field. Still, nothing in the GradDegree field on either the form or in the debug section. A 

The debug section does have some values, just not for the GradDegree field.   I see values for the First and Last Name fields, the PeopleSoftID, and the concatenated full name, in addition to some fields with default values set (Modified, Created, Program-Concentration, etc.)   A 

 In the newest posted form, the CougarnetID field never gets set to the field1 value.  I have been successful at using the Username() function to directly set the CougarnetID field directly, "field1" was a field I added for testing purposes, it doesn't exist in the list, just on the form. I found one issue, the line where you tried to grab the Admissions-GradDegree field was set to compare field1 to PeopleSoftID instead of CougarnetID.  Sadly, I changed this but still got no data pulled.   A
