Is there a way to force the SharePoint server to relink forms so when a form is updated, and a new field is added to the Form Library Columns, I don't have to open each form to populate the SharePoint site?

Is there any way to create the template.xsn and the supporting aspx files from an xml file. My trouble is that when publishing to a SharePoint server, the original template.xsn file was overwritten and now I have a load of xml files that are totally useless.
