    Send view, not attachment

Is it possible to use the button rule "Submit using a data connection" to send only the current view as teh body of the message and not the whole form as an attachment?

I also want to make sure that I only send the current view. I don't want any of the other views to be submitted.

    Hi JimDandy,
In the Designer, go to Tools->Data Connections and Modify your e-mail data connection. In the Data Connection wizard remove the Attachment Name (make it blank). Click next. Now the form should not have the attachment when it sends.

Thanks for getting back to me. I modified the Data Connection and just as you said, there was no attachment but neither was there any data in the message that got sent. Only a blank message arrived. How do I get the data in my view to be sent? Does the data need to be on a particular control?

You need to look into the EmailAdapter if you want to be able to avoid
    sending the attachment.

Here is the thread that should help you:

    Hi Jim,
I think Stephanie might be right. Sorry if I mislead you. For some reason, I thought it would still send the MHTML in the body. I should know this since my team worked on the feature when I was still at MS. I'd like to reconfirm though. Did you send e-mail from a view that had data in it? OR was it a blank view. We can take a look at this. Obviously, as Stephanie says, you can use code to achieve this.

What I did was to create a form with two views. The main one had entry fields and dropdowns where you would make your selections and enter your data. Then you would press a button to open the alternate view which showed how all your selections would look when put together to form the message we want to send to a distribution group. It's the second view that I wanted to send to the without the form attached.

I'm open to using code if someone could supply an example.

Anyone have any example code to accomplish this?

I think I found it but I silly enough switched my XML editor to Infopath. What would happen if you set the hidden field of /my:Attachments to false?
