I'm familiar with that part but I'm not sure how to query against the data source. Normally under the data source I have query fields where I can enter data and then run a query. For my access database that portion does not exist. It does exist if I add the Access DB as the primary data source, which i don't want.

I am using InfoPath 2010 connecting to an Access 2007 compatible database which is linked to an Excel spreadsheet (easier than trying to connect directly to a spreadsheet). I have a list with a "effective date" column and an "amount" column. I want to auto-populate a field in the form with the most current rate. To do this, I'll need to lookup the closest date from the date I have in the form and populate with the amount. How can I perform that filter/lookup?
