  • Re: export fields from form to .csv

You could custom code a button using C# or VB to create the CSV file.  There are enough code examples on the web to piece together the code.  Using XPathNavigator you can buffer the form data to string variables, then it's just a matter of some simple file operations to open, write and close the file.

  • Re: Designer workflow vs. InfoPath Code to send Email

I've done it both ways, but lately I've setteled on handling the approval workflow inside of InfoPath. I find I can control it better than a SP workflow.  One of the ways to accomplish this is to use muitlple views for the approval. Additionally, I use a view to construct/customize the email message. When the user approves, I have ...

  • Re: Can an Infopath form create a Document Set.

I had a similar situation where I wanted to be able to create a custom set of documents from a SharePoint Records Center site. The goal was to be able to construct a list of documents constructed from a variety of different filtered results.  What I ended up doing was creating an InfoPath form to store the document references in a repeating ...

  • Re: signature image in a form

I found a way to add a signature image to a form without doing any codeing, but it isn't eloquent....  My goal for this exercise was to have a SharePoint list that contained a digitized (image) signature for users and managers to be inserted on a form; which I've accomplished. Infopath Limitation: When using a picture box ...

  • Re: signature image in a form

I took a look at the XSLT file Infopath creates and found a problem.....  Infopath uses <xsl:copy-of> to reference the XML element (string) I am plugging in from my rule.  Therefore, there is no way to do a disable-output-escaping="yes" like you can do w/ <xsl:value-of> to preserve the "<" and ...

  • Re: signature image in a form

I'm so close.......   You can't just add the "<img..... />" tag.  You have to direct Infopath to deal with this as inline HTML, so the syntax is: concat('<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:space="preserve"><div><img ...

  • Re: signature image in a form

Right now I'm using a picture library.  One issue I've found is the [file]Name field is not exposed in the Data Connection.  To get around that I just created a new list column to store the file name.  I haven't found a way to insert the binary file data which Infopath requires for a "picture" control.  ...

  • How to get the next ID from a SharePoint List

I have a data connection to a SharePoint list that will retrieve the last node and display the value of the "ID" field.  My question is how can I retrieve the value of the "next" record ID?  Exspecially when some records have been deleted. Example List: [ID]   [TITLE] 1     First ...

  • Re: signature image in a form

I'm about to try the same thing.....  I'm thinking of putting the image files into a SharePoint library, then use a data connection to retrieve the node list, indexed to the user who's signature I want, and a rule tied to a check box to update the image box.  That way I won't need any code, and I should be able to still ...
