I ended up going with just a button the use must click to submit and close the form. I was hoping to get it so the submitting user would not need to do anything.

I have noticed this only happens during events other than clicked_events and context_changed_event. Is there any way to call this during a changed_event, or is there a way to call the context_changed event or clicked_event through code?

So I tried some things. I removed the 148 field view completely, no improvement. I removed the repeating choice group in the one view, no improvement. Correct that is the view it happens with I can only have 15 nodes of that and it crashes when I add the 16th. I also happens with the view with 19 repeating fields, but I can have more before it crashes. Each of these views I'm using the Master and detail functionality, would that affect anything?
