Could you instead submit to a data source, and include a field on the record to indicate whether a manager has approved? Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by kminor on 06-11-2009 Re: Missing query results when two tables are joined Hmm... It looks like they're linked correctly: shape {select [RequestID], [RequestDate], [RequestRequiredDate], ..., [RequestMonth], [RequestYear], [Scratch] from [Requests] as [Requests] order by [RequestID] } as [Requests] append ... Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by kminor on 06-11-2009 Re: Missing query results when two tables are joined Thanks for the pointer, Hilary -- I had not realized you could do that. I just tried it, and I'm having the same issue. I get the results from my main table (Results), but it doesn't show the results from my other table (Customers). I've got them linked in the main data connection, so I'm not quite sure what's ... Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by kminor on 06-11-2009 Re: How to switch to data entry view and populate based on a parameter? After much swearing, I found a way to do this. I'm sure it's not the most efficient way to do it, but it works. I have a view that displays detail records for submitted requests in a repeating table, and each row/record has a small button in the left-most column. I added a query field for my Request ID (the primary key for ... Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by kminor on 06-10-2009 Re: Two Tables Side by Side You're welcome -- glad it worked for you! Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by kminor on 06-10-2009 Re: Two Tables Side by Side Could you have a table that is 2 columns x 1 row (basically, two cells side by side), and then inside each cell, add another table in the layout that you want? On the first table, you can change the padding/margins if needed. Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by kminor on 06-10-2009 Re: How to read data from hidden fields back to controls. I'm pretty new to this as well, but I would suggest looking into master/detail sections. It sounds like that would suit your situation well. Good luck! Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by kminor on 06-10-2009 Re: Rule check for hours taken off - decimal check This is just a guess, so forgive me if I'm off base. Do you need to convert hours to a string first? When you say you can't get it, what exactly is the result? Are you getting an error, or is it just not catching errors? Can you post exactly what your rule says? Posted to General (Forum) by kminor on 06-10-2009 Re: Section binding types I believe you'd only want to bind a section to a field if you've got a group of radio buttons or checkboxes that pertain to that field. So, if I have a Customers table with a field called Transportation Method, I could have a section linked to the Transportation Method field, and that section could contain three option ...
