I think the only way to do this is to use a web service as submitting back to a database requires that you derive the Main DOM schema from the database. So, you'll create a web service with one method GetNumber() and this web service will use a data store( XML or database) to keep track of the current number to be used, and then increment this by ...

Hi Dazed and Confused,
Ok, now I understand. what you need is a filter. The syntax is going to be a little difficult because I don't know exactly how you have the ListOne implemented. When you choose what appears in ListTwo you should be able to click ''Filter Data'' and specify that only the rows where checked = true should populate the ...

Hey Jack,
I think you are just getting a syntax error here, can you post the code an errors you are seeing? Patrick was saying that you cannot access the values of a drop-down if you hardcode them in the designer, but if they are populated from a secondary data source it is trivial to retrieve the values and we do it all the time.

I've moved this discussion to the Qdabra AD WebService forum...
Yes, you should be able to filter using the key/value pairs, as described before, to get the value you want. I don't have the exact xpath for you, but you should be able to decipher what I wrote earlier to understand how to get the value you want. If you have further specific ...

Maybe I don't understand your scenario well enough... but you mentioned using ''part of a rule''. I take that to mean that are using the Rules feature available on fields. If that is the case, there is a condition portion of a rule that must be met before any actions occur. It is there that you can do your if/else. Just make sure that on the ...

Sure. I hope that worked for you!

First off, thanks for a great site!! I've been lurking and gleaning info for quite some time.
I an using the included code to make a new Outlook message appear. The reason I am doing it this way instead of with a data connection is because the person completing the form will need to edit the resulting email before it's sent. The Email code ...

Matt,
What I am looking for is the code to accomplish this. I need to insert nodes based on conditional logic from the values entered into the table.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Bill,
Is the other section an optional section that you are trying to physically insert into the XML, or is it a regular section that you want to show/hide via conditional formatting? The second should be pretty easy and you can just hide the section when the ''certain conditions'' are false. Once this is setup you could just always populate ...

Hello,
I have a repeating table that collects some basic information: name, dob, ss#, mother name, father name and specific criteria. My table is confined to eight rows.
Now my issue: When I enter data into row #1 and the specific criteria are True, I want to auto insert into a repeating section in another area of my form. With each new row ...
