Rob,
It is possible to do what you're trying to do without using the 2003 Compatible OM.
//get the path to your new form.
string strNewFormPath = ''C:\YourNewForm.xsn'';
XmlForm objNewForm = this.Application.XmlForms.NewFromFormTemplate(strNewFormPath);
//Find the node in the new form that you want to set
XPathNavigator objTargetField = ...

Does the code look correct? Thanks for your help!

OK so more information.
I have realized that you can easily do this by setting the text of the XML node of the main data source to whatever text you want however, i want to be able to only select whatever values are available in the drop down box itself. So for instance, if i select 5 from the tree control and the value 5 does not exist in the ...

Hi all,
I would like to automatically populate user profile information (like name, contact details, e-mail address, etc) inside an Infopath form. I believe that it is possible by retrieving the data from SharePoint Portal Server using User Profile (UserProfileService.asmx) Web Service. But I don't know how to achieve it.

Hi Mario,
I think you should change this line
objNode2.SelectSingleNode(''//dfs:dataFields/d:UT_Proposal/d:UT_Proposal_Process/@Speed'').text=strjunk
to this:
objNode2.SelectSingleNode(''@Speed'').text=strjunk
Hope that works!

I will keep trying, but so far I get the distinguished name info and when I try to filter out even further to just get the CN= portion of the distinguished name I am getting nothing at all. If you can get the xpath that would do this I would appreciate it, but I am not going to give up trying to work it out.
Thanks

Hi Shiraz,

If the database is setup as a secondary data source then you should add a rule to the address drop-down that sets the value of queryFields/tenantId to the value of the dropdown, then add another rule that requieres the database ...
