Since I do not know of a way to make sections read-only I think you are stuck with it by field. The only suggestion I would make is changing the form design not to show the same data as many times or designate one view for entry and have the rest as read-only. Often putting a little bit more structure to the process or controling user ...

Hi guys,
I've had a look throught he forums in regards to my subject above, but I couldn't quite find what I want to do.
I know it's possible to hide form controls using conditional formatting,
and then simply setting a ''global'' flag that triggers that, but I am wondering if there isn't a ''better'' way to do this.
I have a form with multiple ...

This is pretty simple. Create another field in your Main Data Source, a true false would be fine called saved or something, but do not put it in your form view. When the user clicks the submit button have a rule set this new field that sets it to true. Then put a conditional format on the button to be disabled if saved field = true.
Keeping ...

InfoPath is a great solution for this, especially with Tablet PC's, since Tablet integration has been built in. I have managed similar migrations from Access User Interfaces to InfoPath and the user experience is much improved as well as the development is much easier and the UI capabilities much greater.
You would need to look at your from ...

I'm new to InfoPath, but it looks like it may be the right solution for what I'm needing to do. I have an Access 2003 database that I need to get data into. The data will be collected by people using tablet PCs out in the field, and it needs to get imported into the database. That sounds like what InfoPath can do. The thing I'm trying to ...

Hey There,
I got around this issue by putting in some default text such as ''insert name here'' - when the users get to this field that have to delete the default text in order to put their name. If they delete it and then move on, it gives them the validation error.
It is not perfect, but a small work around. I was having the same issue as ...

I'll try that and see how it works!
Thanks!!

I worked on something similar. I would recommend a database to capture the information but this could be done completely in InfoPath. My understanding is you would have a formal scored/signed/summary page but then you want a detail view with notes, comments, etc.
I would use a form with multuiple views, capture the details in one view for the ...

Yah for 2003 you have to use the datediff function in code to calculate 10 days out. Store this in a field and then you cna do date comparisons against it I can get you a sample if you need or there may be some already here if you search.

I would use one or more flag fields (A text or number field created for this purpose) to monitor status. When the form is saved or submitted the flag field increments or changes value. You may want to have one for each signature line and as that person clicks to sign have a rule also mark the flag field. That way you can put complimentary ...
