To improve our community meeting place, we will soon be releasing an overhauled InfoPathDev.com Web site (exact date to be determined). We consider each of you a valuable part of what makes InfoPathDev.com great. We would like your feedback on the preview version of the new Web site and forum features. The temporary location is ...

Unfortunately InfoPath does not provide a test harness to allow for automating testing. This is something we've asked the InfoPath team for repeatedly. We're still hoping a rich runtime-om might surface to allow for this type of thing.
At this point having sample data files and previewing from designer with them frequently can help speed unit ...

Then I'm confused -- because yo are mixing two different worlds in your first posting: Code-XPaths and View-XPaths
If you are trying to do all this in the designer, then you should not be doing any selectSingleNode anything.
If you are doing this all in code, then you cannot use xdXDocument -- it doesn't exist.
What I provided was an all code ...

Hi Dean,
The only way I can think of doing this is to have two instances of the same drop-down, each populating from the different data sources, and then simply conditionally hide the one you don't want to show. Be sure to clear the entry in the drop-down whenever you switch, otherwise you might get bad input.

Hi Dean,
This might be possible with a lot of fiddling, but I doubt it. If you get it to work it is likely that you will have spent less time simply converting your code. Conversion would also be a good practice to brush up on C# if you haven't done it in a while.

Hi Jax,
I'd say go with the seperate views and then put buttons to switch between them. This will reduce clutter in the designer and therefore the editor.
Also, you might want to create a simple ASPX page that creates this dashboard for you. If the forms have nothing to do with each other, then this seems like it will keep the data more pure.

Hi Nick,
This is a foundational function of InfoPath - it should simply work. Is there something you're not telling us? Such as opening from within a browser?

Greg I am confused by your last reply.
When a particular row of the table (populated from secondary ds) is
selected by the user I want to identify the ID of that particular
row of the table - hence why I am trying to use current() to capture
the ID to populate fields within the main datasource of the form.

I would like to be able to change the secondary data connection that is used by a dropdown when a user makes a choice in an option group. How can I do this in VB.Net?
-
Can VB.Net and C# be used in the same form? if so, how? I've already started with VB.Net but since so many examples are in C#, I'd rather not convert them if I don't have to.
Thanks
Dean
