Hello,  I figured out that when I try to add the template part via the context menu of the datasource tab in vs2005 the same error will occur but with an additional error message. What you want is outside the abilities of the InfoPath designer to create (at least not without becoming overly complex). The best way to do what you want is to use code. The code can assign separate errors to each of the offending duplicates.

That is a good solution which I hesitated to suggest because many do not have control of the schema to do that. But if you do, that's the easiest way. Then you only have a single field to check against--concat already complete.

Silly me you have to add the hole thing in () so it looked like ((field1 * .5) + (field2 * .6) + (field3 * .3) + (field4 *5)) that worked just thought i would let everyone know.. :)

Hi There  I was never good in math cant seam to get this to work, i have a 4 fields, and have a total one, the total one will equal something like this  (field1 * .5) + (field2 * .6) + (field3 * .3) + (field4 *5) that together would equal my total text box, what am i doing wrong?
