I have a repeating table that has five columns. Third column has a drop down box that is populated with a secondary data source.

I have applied filter for one drop down box so that drop down in one row has unique values.

In any row if user selects the same item again ,say if user enters three rows

Row 1     Drop Down with selected text 1

Row 2     Drop Down with selected text 2

Row 3     Drop Down with selected text 1

and selects the same value in drop down box in Row 1 and Row3. I want to show the inline alert on only Drop Down box1 and  Drop Down box3 with the Screen tip “Select different value”. How can I do that?

What you want is outside the abilities of the InfoPath designer to create (at least not without becoming overly complex). The best way to do what you want is to use code. The code can assign separate errors to each of the offending duplicates.
