Last » Re: Load xml from db on form load Hi Steve, What are you drinking in your avatar picture? To answer your question, you would ideally create a Web service that could run a query to get the XML from SQL. There are a lot of tricks to do this corectly, for example you need to make sure that you don't strip out the processing-instructions at the top of the XML that tell Windows ... Posted to General (Forum) by Patrick Halstead on 01-26-2013 Re: Help with Cascading Dropdown and SQL Not being able to dynamically parameterize a SQL query is a limitation with out-of-box InfoPath. It is one of the main reasons why we (Qdabra) created DBXL Web service and added support to qRules to do T-SQL queries. You could write your own code, or try one of those gap-fillers. qRules is a common library that includes the code you would need to ... Hi Luke20, The workflows need something to trigger on. Usually, that's a save or create. If you don't have that step, the workflows may not run. Of course, you can manually run the workflow on the forms, but that may be too onerous. To make it more of a batch, you could create a separate column or list and edit it in a data view and that ... Posted to Workflow (Forum) by Patrick Halstead on 01-26-2013 Re: InfoPath forms and SharePoint List Default Forms Hi SadStory and welcome, I'm a little confused. As far as I know, you can't have 3 forms in a default SharePoint list. Maybe I am missing something special about list forms, but if you choose to design with InfoPath, you can create with three views and add rules to switch to them based on the status of the form. That's relatively easy ... Posted to SharePoint Integration (Forum) by Patrick Halstead on 01-26-2013 Re: Email Browser-Enabled Form as Hyperlink Hi Jolie, Well, you don't have to hardcode the email addresses in the workflow. Just add the field form your form as a promoted property in InfoPath (File-> Form Options->Promoted Properties) and it will be available to the workflow so it can be driven by the contents of your form. Should be easy. We also have a training lab that ... Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by Patrick Halstead on 01-25-2013 Re: Advice about a Resume field Hi g21cincy and thanks for all of the posts! So, I'm guessing the 3rd party .net form doesn't submit XML. You should verify that it submits rich text for the resume. It could be submitting non xhtml compliant rich text which means you may need to add a plugin for viewing it. The out-of-box InfoPath rich text control does require a certain ... Posted to Browser Forms (Forum) by Patrick Halstead on 01-25-2013 Re: Filter formula for Current Record Hi Metron4, I would try breaking it apart into two calculations. Do the inner one in the default value of a field which does not appear in your view. Then, the view element can reference that hidden field to do the top filter. See if that's faster. Just an idea, Patrick Posted to Code (Forum) by Patrick Halstead on 01-25-2013 Re: Sum Function Issues Hi Kristina, The sum function works with repeating groups. Make sure that your group is repeating. If not, you can just use the + sign to add up the individual fields and it should work - i.e. field1+field2. Best of luck, Patrick Posted to General (Forum) by Patrick Halstead on 01-25-2013 Re: No reaction on press of Submit button Hi Tobi and welcome, If you are using a browser-based form, you may need to change your button properties' browser post back settings to "Always" to get it to work. We have seen issues with buttons not working because of that. InfoPath tries to intuit when it should post back to the server but sometimes it guesses wrong. If ... We highly recommend people do away with Full Trust. There are very few good reasons for using it. Most of the time, simple changes can be made to remove the requirement. That will save you a lot of headache since you won't have to admin ...
