in my form I am trying to limit the number of hits the user gets when searching for products. As my product db will contain 40000+ entries, I do not want to display those in my form if the user doesn't limit the search results.

You could design your form so that when a form "admin" opens the attachment, that you have a special submit button that will save to your Sharepoint site.

For Problem 1, you must have a attachment control on the main DOM.
For file attachments to work in InfoPath, you should see the following processing instruction near the top of the xml.
<?mso-infoPath-file-attachment-present?>

Forms Server is just the InfoPath form server functionality. It runs on top of MOSS 2007.

Go into Add/Remove programs and make sure you have .HET Programmability support installed (Vistual Studio Tools for Applications).

Depending on the size of documents being submitted and whether history is enabled could increase the log files substantially. You will need to periodically truncate your transaction log depending on your recovery requirements.

The form is just straight forward text boxes formatted with the appropriate settings ie - text or numeric etc.
The form has 60 rows with about 16 cells in each row its basic and allows the user to open up select their view (there are 6 groups) and save thats all.
Is there a limit on publishing size for forms, this form is now 150k and still ...
