I did a search but could not find anything. Is there a way to fire a trigger off of a section being removed? I didn't see a easy way to perform this.

Hello In the read only view, for the controls like Dropdowns, Date Pickers  which does not have Read only Option , Change the controls to Expression boxes. This will store the same data from the first view as read only

Ah well, i thought so.. However, that's not my field of responsibility, and it isn't really mandatory... I just wrote in the infopath form to wait 30 seconds before using the file to make sure it was updated. I just thought it was weird because if you put something on the server with the explorer, it's updated ...

Hi Patrick -- Thanks so much for your response.  I love the solution!  I have one problem though ... in step 4, I do not find "read only" as an option in the Properties/Display Tab of controls that are drop-down, dates, etc.  It is there on the text fields, but not on the others. Am I missing something?

just a small add. may be it would have been easier to use radio buttons instead of checkboxes as it seems like you actually created rules to perform the functionality which the radio buttons have out of the box.
