• Re: Text box size

InfoPath has limitations when creating direct connections to a database: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/infopath/HP100950831033.aspx Quoting the article (I've underlined memo): None of the data fields in the main data source of the form store a large binary data type InfoPath will disable the submit data connection if the ...

  • Text box size

Can you make access memo fields (memo - data type) work with InfoPath 2003? Seems like it is limited to text box constraints (256 characters) , but I gotta believe I am just missing how to get them to work togather because I can not imagine a product like this being this limited (even in its first version) Thanks for ...

  • Showing custom modal dialogs in managed code

A common question is to how to show custom dialogs using the InfoPath 2007 OM. In InfoPath 2003 one could use the ShowModalDialog OM function that would take an arbitrary HTML and show it. Although you can still use the old IP2003 OM in InfoPath 2007, there is a better option if you are writing in managed code, namely WinForms! If you are ...

  • Re: Validate infopath user input to a value in a secondary table

Yah that is why you want a web service so that you can query the data instead of loading all of it each time. if you can only load the fields you need in your data connection that could help some too.

Thanks Clay, the filter worked and the data validation works now. Now the problem is the secondary source contains 80K records and it searches until it finds (or doesn't find). So my performance sucks, but I'll have to figure a work around for that
