When I say "command menu", I mean the menu that appears when clicking the box with the arrow on it on the top left of repeating sections and repeating table rows. I would like users that have no experience with InfoPath to easily remove sections and rows. The default text for the removal option is tiny, and reads like something a coder ...

In InfoPath Designer, select Tools | Form Options, choose the "Browser" category and check out the options that are available there. You should be able to remove Save via these settings.

  • Re: Record Date and Time in a Hidden Section

Thanks for the suggestion, but do I need to put the now() and today() formula in both the set field value Rule location and the actual fields themselves?

You would need to add a rule to your submit that has an action to set the value of those fields. This will then trigger when submitted and populate the field values with now() or today()
