Hello nupur!
I think the easiest way to do this would be to promote the unique ID to the SharePoint library and then establish a data connection to the form library in the form. Once you have this, find the highest number in the list, increment by 1 and there you have it!
I hope this helps!

Hello rkvasal and welcome to the forum!
Well you have quite a project on your hands, don't you?
For the drop-down lists I would look at the following HowTos to get you started on the cascading lists the display different items depending on what was chosen in a previous drop-down. This is called a cascading drop-down ...

Hi Oggsct and welcome to the forum!
Yes, you should be able to use drop-down lists to accept input for your CAML. It might be a little more difficult, however, because you will need to accept input from the DDL into the Main DOM, and then copy that value into the secondary DOM (the CAML template) right before you submit to SharePoint. This is ...

You also might want to check out using Promoted Properties. In the last step of the SharePoint publish wizard you are given the chance to add promoted properties to your form. If you add these properties, you will be able to have a quick glance at some of the information from the form because it is displayed in columns right there on the library ...

Hi Kim,
You can either right a little function and put it behind a button to do this, or use the more elegant solution presented by Ned at the InfoPath blog:http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2236
If you want to write the function, please search around the forum a little bit, I remember writing one for a post just like this.

Let us know how it turns out!

Hi Donovan,
I think the following steps will help you:
1. Double-click the comment node in the data source task pane.
2. Click the Data Validation tab.
3. Click Add, and then add this data validation:
[_DropDown_List_] [is equal to] [No] [ and ]
[_Name_of_comment_Node_] [is blank]
4. Type a message into the two boxes below, and then click OK ...

After you select 'Select a field or group' another box will pop up and there will be another drop-down at the top of this box that allows you to change which data connection you're looking at. In this case, you'll want to change to the data connection that you added to point to the Access database, and then choose the appropriate node from there.
